Embedded Generation Bylaws 2024

This document amends Zimbabwe’s 2018 Net Metering Regulation. It expands eligibility to systems up to 5 MW, revises crediting rates for exported electricity, updates technical requirements for grid interconnection, and introduces detailed net metering connection guidelines to enhance safety, compatibility, and operational standards for renewable energy systems.

This document sets out Kenya’s Energy (Net-Metering) Regulations, 2024, providing the legal framework for consumers to generate renewable electricity for their own use and export excess energy to the grid. It outlines eligibility criteria, technical and billing requirements, and the responsibilities of both consumers and electricity licenses. The purpose of these Regulations is to promote the use of renewable energy technologies by providing consumers with energy storage on the grid.

The regulatory framework seeks to support sustained investment in renewable energy resources in Lesotho. It provides power producers framework guidelines and legal instruments; principles underlying determination of renewable energy tariffs, and the economic and financial model; standardised Power Purchase Agreements for renewable energy generation projects guidelines and legal instruments; and guidelines for the procurement of power.
